Privacy Policy

Jemz Apps, LLC ("Jemz," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Jemz mobile application and related websites and services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

At a glance

No accounts: Jemz does not create user accounts.
No location: Jemz does not collect location data of any kind.
Personal use: Inputs you provide (names, associations, hints) are used only to generate memory cues for you.
Analytics control: We use privacy-friendly analytics to improve Jemz, and you can turn analytics off in the app settings.
No sale or sharing: Jemz does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate and improve Jemz:

Inputs you provide: names, associations, tags, and hints you enter so Jemz can generate mnemonic stories and visuals. These inputs are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, Apple syncs this data under your Apple ID. Jemz does not access iCloud data.
AI generation: To create stories or images, we send only the necessary prompts (e.g., name and hints) to AI model providers acting as our processors. These providers are configured not to use data to train their models. Our servers delete request payloads within ~30 minutes; brief operational logs may persist temporarily for reliability and security.
App activity: events like session starts/ends, feature interactions, and basic usage metrics (e.g., frequency of recall sessions) to understand how Jemz is used and improve performance.
Device & technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and crash logs for functionality, diagnostics, and security.
Purchase status: whether you are in a free trial or have an active subscription/in-app purchase (provided by your platform store) to manage access to features. Jemz does not receive your full payment information.
Support communications: if you email us, we collect your email address and the content of your message to respond.
Analytics: privacy-focused analytics provide aggregated or pseudonymous metrics to help us improve Jemz across the app and website.

What we do not collect

Location data of any kind (precise or approximate).
Sensitive personal information (e.g., government IDs, health records).
Cross-app or cross-site tracking for targeted advertising.
Names, email addresses, or account logins (unless you voluntarily contact us for support).

How we use information

Provide and operate the Service (generate visuals, schedule and deliver recall sessions).
Maintain, secure, and improve functionality (including diagnostics and performance analytics).
Manage access (free trials, subscriptions, in-app purchases) via your platform provider.
Respond to support requests and communicate important notices (e.g., policy updates).
Comply with legal obligations and prevent misuse or abuse of the Service.

How we share information

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only to:

Platform providers (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play) to verify purchase status and manage access.
Service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., AI model providers, analytics, crash reporting, email support). They may only use information to perform services for us and must protect it.
Authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Analytics and your choices

We use privacy-friendly analytics tools in both the Jemz app and on our website (jemzapps.com). These tools help us understand usage patterns in the aggregate, improve performance, and plan capacity. We do not collect names, emails, advertising IDs, or location data, and we do not use analytics for cross-site or cross-app tracking.

In the app: You can opt out of analytics at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous analytics (toggle off). Turning off analytics does not affect your core use of Jemz.

On the website: You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or use opt-out mechanisms where available. The website will remain usable if you disable analytics.

Data retention

On-device and iCloud data persists until you delete it. Server-side AI request payloads are deleted within ~30 minutes; limited security logs may persist briefly. Analytics are kept only in aggregated, non-identifying form for trend analysis, with raw events minimized and rotated regularly.

Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information in transit and at rest, apply least-privilege access controls, and routinely delete transient data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk materially.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for individuals 18+, or 13+ with parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Jemz, please contact us so we can delete it.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) provides you certain rights, including the right to:

Know the categories of personal information we collect, the categories of sources, our business purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom information is disclosed.
Access and receive a copy of specific pieces of personal information, subject to verification.
Delete personal information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., to provide the Service or comply with law).
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information (Jemz does not sell or share PI for cross-context advertising).
Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

Categories of PI we collect: inputs you provide; AI generation prompts; app activity; device and technical data; purchase status; support communications; and analytics.
Sources: you; your device/OS and the app; platform providers; service providers.
Business purposes: to operate, secure, and improve the Service; manage access; support; compliance.
Disclosures for business purposes: to service providers and platform providers as described above.

To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at admin@jemzapps.com. We may need to verify your request (for example, by confirming device or purchase details). You may authorize an agent to act on your behalf where permitted by law.

Legal bases for processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we process personal information on the following legal bases:

Contract: to provide the Service, including generating visuals, recall sessions, and managing subscriptions/free trials.
Legitimate interests: to improve and secure Jemz, prevent fraud and misuse, and ensure reliability. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms.
Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and enforce our Terms.
Consent: where required (for example, if you opt in to analytics). You can withdraw consent at any time in the app settings.

International users

Jemz is operated in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where legally required, we use appropriate safeguards such as data protection agreements or standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will provide notice (for example, in-app or on our website). Your continued use of Jemz after the effective date of the updated Policy constitutes your acceptance.
